Child Care Center – Sylmar, California

TT_1

As we provide architecture for children, we feel that there is a need for the facility to be playful and yet respond to all the functional and State licensing requirements. Located adjacent to a Metrolink station, the design integrates the theme of the “Choo-Choo train” and one of the requirementsof the City of SanFernando, the mission style. The building appears secure and fortress like on the outside, but transparent and connected on the inside. The tower denotes the entrance and anchors the site, and the dual sun dial and clock entry patio.

In association with Helena Lyn Jubany, FAIA.
